About us

History

Monsignor J. Francis McIntyre, who was the chaplain for the Knights of Columbus, was inspired to establish the Columbiettes in 1939 when he witnessed women emerging from a political rally. How wonderful that he recognized what a valuable contribution women do make! We bring a vibrant energy, organizational skills, and nurturing care to this Sisterhood of Columbiettes to partner with the Brotherhood of Knights.

Our Emblem

The blue circle represents the world. The cross represents Jesus Christ's love for us. The rays represent our zeal to serve God. The stars represent faith, hope, and charity.

Our Patronesses

We look to them for inspiration and guidance in our path to God. Our patronesses are the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Theresa the Little Flower, and Saint Joan of Arc.
